Sascha Banz Joins UBS Asset Management as Head of Global Wealth Management Client Coverage in APAC

UBS Asset Management has appointed a seasoned professional from Credit Suisse's private banking sector.

Sascha Banz, who most recently lead advisory and sales in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region at Credit Suisse, has taken up a new role at UBS, according to Citywire.

In his new position, Banz will serve as the head of Global Wealth Management client coverage for the Apac region at UBS Asset Management. He revealed on LinkedIn that his responsibilities will include overseeing the relationship between UBS Asset Management and UBS Global Wealth Management across various client groups.

As of the report's publication, UBS had not responded to Citywire Asia regarding comments on Banz's recruitment.

Banz's background includes a significant tenure at Credit Suisse's private banking division. He was appointed as the head of advisory and sales for Apac in February of the previous year and was stationed in Hong Kong. His roles at Credit Suisse also included co-chairing the wealth management advisory and sales committee for Apac and leading investment consulting for Hong Kong and the Greater China region.

Before his latest roles, Banz had various positions at Credit Suisse in Switzerland. He had announced a break from his career last year during the merger between UBS and Credit Suisse.
