BNP Paribas announces appointment of Asia Pacific Co-CEOs

Andy Chai and Arnaud Tellier have been announced as Co-CEOs for BNP Paribas’ Asia Pacific Wealth Management operation. In addition, David Lim has been named as the Head of Wealth Management Singapore and Southeast Asia.

The pair of Chai and Tellier will be replacing Pierre Vrielinck, who held the position of CEO of Asia Pacific prior to Chai and Tellier’s appointment.

Vrielinck had held the role since 2017 and has successfully grown BNP’s business in the region. HE will be returning to France in December 2019, taking up a new senior leadership role within BNP’s French operation.

Prior to his appointment, Chai was BNP’s Head of Wealth Management for Greater China. He will continue to retain responsibility for the Greater China markets, which include mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, as well as leading the strategic client segment across Asia.

Tellier, meanwhile, was the Head of Wealth Management for Singapore and Southeast Asia. His oversight will include Southeast Asia, India, and International markets, with BNP’s key support functions and investment services in these regions to report to him. Lim, in his new role, will report to Tellier.

Both Chai and Tellier will be reporting to co-CEO of BNP Paribas Wealth Management, Vincent Lecomte, and to Eric Raynaud, the CEO of BNP Paribas Group’s Asia Pacific operations.
