Tom is a Principal in Mercer's Investments business and is based in Hong Kong Tom joined Mercer in 2010 and has spent his career working across both Investment and business strategy teams within Mercer. He has spent time working across the UK, Asia, USA and the Middle East. Tom currently leads the growth of Mercer’s Investment Fund distribution platform Mercer FundWatch. This provides institutional quality forward looking advice to both individuals and their advisors in Asia. Tom has over 9 years of investment consulting experience advising a wide range of institutional clients on investment, pension and operational issues. This includes holding lead investment advisory positions to FTSE 100 pension scheme clients in the UK. His experience covers a wide range advice ranging across investment strategy design, product research, manager selection and asset class research. He previously held key positions on a number of UK research committees within Mercer. As part of a UK Institute of Actuaries Working Group, he has spent time researching and publicising use of illiquid assets within the UK Defined Contribution pension market. Tom co-authored a white paper on this topic and has spoken at the major annual UK Actuarial conference on the issue. Over the last three years,, Tom has been involved in developing growth strategy for Mercer’s global investment business – focussing efforts on Growth Market regions including both organic and in-organic initiatives, digital initiatives and product strategy. Tom graduated from The University of Warwick in 2009 with an BSc degree in Mathematics. He is a CFA charter holder.
