Vietnam - Wealth Management Update

Eric has 30 years of experience in asset management and wealth management. He has held senior roles in management, sales and strategy as a Managing Director at AllianceBernstein, Hartford Funds and New York Life. Eric is based in Ho Chi Minh City and is responsible for sales and marketing for VinaCapital Asset Management’s retail and institutional businesses. Eric earned a BA from Occidental College in Diplomacy & World Affairs, with a Minor in Asian Studies.

Thomas is part of the Sales team at InvestCloud, based in Hong Kong. Prior to this he was Head of Sales with a WealthTech startup in Asia; and Head of Presales and Market Strategy for a leading private banking front-office solution provider in Geneva, Switzerland. He also worked at Bloomberg, Cap Gemini, IBM, Thomson Reuters, and SuperDerivatives with responsibilities for consulting and designing innovative solutions for financial services clients. Before immerging into financial technology, Thomas started his career as a banker and investment advisor in Vancouver, Canada. With over 15 years of dedicated financial technology experience, Thomas has a strong background in strategic consulting, digital transformation, enterprise architecture, and solution design.

Gauraw is a seasoned business leader in the field of Wealth Management and Retail Banking with over 18 years of experience in Asian markets. Currently, he is based in Vietnam, where he set up and heading Affluent Banking and Wealth Management business for leading joint stock bank of Vietnam, VPBank. Prior to this, Gauraw was Head of Investments at ICICI Securities in India, the brokerage and wealth management arm of the second largest bank in India, ICICI Bank. Earlier, Gauraw worked at Standard Chartered for 10 years with many roles across Wealth Management and Priority Banking. He was Director, Priority Banking, India in his last assignment. He has done his bachelors in Economics and MBA in International Business. He been key note speaker and panelist on various industry forums and conferences.

Ms. Hang joined SSI Securities Corporation (SSI) since 2007 and became CEO of SSIAM since 2010. She has many years of experience in SSIAM, SSI and at W.P. Stewart, a New York–based asset management firm. In SSI, she acted as Managing Director and Head of SSI’s Research & Investment Advisory Department, cum Assistant to the Chairman of SSI and Head of Institutional Sales. She is currently Chairman of Southern Seed Company, Vice Chairman of National Seed Company and Chairman of SSIAM SIF and SSIAM UCITS funds. Ms. Hang holds a Master in Finance and BA in Accounting from American University, USA.

Hanh has more than 20 years of experience in finance and investment in Vietnam since the debut of Vietnam Stock market. She has involved in different roles from research, portfolio management, and product development as research analyst, portfolio manager, Chief Investment Officer, and Deputy CEO in 17 years from the establishment of VietFund Management. in 2021 she becomes Head of Domestic Asset Management in DCVFM after merging between Dragon Capital and VietFund Management. She is responsible for product and business development, fundraising and digital distribution in Vietnam.

Damien is the Regional Director Asia for InvestCloud. In that capacity Damien works with Banks and Insurers in finding technology oriented solutions to improve sales, advisory and relationship management processes. Despite being a trained lawyer, Damien’s love of zeros and ones drove him along a 18 year pilgrimage to the intersection of finance and technology, guiding world leading banks and insurers along the journey. He is based in Singapore and covers the major Asia banking centers.

Michael has an extensive background in financial services in Asia, Europe and North America. He has been in Asia-Pacific since 1995 – first in Hong Kong for six years, then in Sydney and Singapore, returning to Hong Kong in 2007. Before setting up Hubbis in early 2009, Michael founded Pacific Prospect in 2002 and sold it to global business-to-business publisher Incisive Media in 2006, continuing to serve as Chief Executive Officer until October 2008. Prior to Pacific Prospect, Michael worked for nine years in financial markets publishing. He joined Euromoney Publications in 1993 as the publisher of a quarterly magazine, International Bond Investor. In 1995, Michael joined Thomson Financial Services (now Thomson Reuters) to conceive and launch Finance Asia magazine. While he was Managing Director of Finance Asia, Michael also started the Asian Debt Review, Asian Private Capital Magazine and started the Finance Asia Conference Business. In 1997, Michael founded FIA Limited. Born in North Wales, Michael was head boy of St David’s College Llandudno. He has a degree in Business Administration from Cardiff University. And is married with three children - Reanna, Garett and Tarryn.
