Xen WM platform hires former GIC MD to lead business strategy

Former GIC Managing Director Bernard Phang has joined Singapore-based alternative investment platform Xen as an advisor.

According to Xen Co-Founder and CEO Katrina Cokeng, Phang gives her firm “an impressive wealth of experience and a unique perspective on the global alternative investment landscape.”

She goes on to say, “His deep understanding of the industry, particularly in real estate investing, will serve us well as we partner with more high-performing alternative investment managers and connect a wider group of investors with quality opportunities.”

Phang said one of his goals is to create new opportunities, pointing to issues like accredited investors in Asia being shut out of alternative investments because of high minimum investments and a lack of transparency.

He adds that “Xen’s business proposition has the potential to fill the gap between the need of a big segment of the investor market and the opportunities offered by attractive private market investments”.
