Janus Henderson appoints Head of Intermediary Sales, Asia ex Japan
Janus Henderson Investors announces the appointment of Alex Ng to the role of Head of Intermediary Sales, Asia ex Japan. Alex will commence his role in July 2022 and report to Andrew Hendry, Head of Distribution, Asia ex Japan.
In this newly created role, Alex will be responsible for leading and managing the intermediary sales function across South East Asia and Greater China, with a focus on partnering with global banking clients to ensure their investment needs are met.
Alex brings close to 15 years of experience in the funds management industry. He joins from Federated Hermes, where he was Head of Wholesale Distribution, Asia, responsible for the firm's wholesale channel within Asia ex Japan. Prior to that he was Director at abrdn (previously Aberdeen Standard Investments), where he was responsible for product distribution to banks, single family office and multi-family offices. He previously also held business development roles in Lion Global Investors and Reliance Asset Management.
Of the appointment, Andrew Hendry said, “We are excited to welcome Alex to the firm. Alex has client service experience stretching back two decades. His experience in leading the business areas at some of fund managements’ leading names will greatly contribute to our own growth in the region while enhancing our ability to meet our clients’ constantly evolving needs.”
The move builds on the strength of Janus Henderson’s Global Distribution team and reinforces our continued investment in hiring top talent across the organisation to ensure best-in-class client experience. It comes following several key hires across the Global Distribution team including Andrew Hendry’s own appointment as Head of Distribution, Asia ex Japan in February 2022.
Other key hires across the Global Distribution team in past months include the Global Head of Consultant Relations, Global Head of Client Experience, Head of North America Institutional, Director of Institutional Solutions in Australia, and Deputy Head of Investment Trusts.
