Profile:
Richard Chow graduated with a Bachelor of Law (Honours) from University of Wales in 1986. He was admitted as a Barrister to the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn, London in 1988 and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1989. He has substantial experience in banking, commercial and industrial labour disputes litigation and as well as in commercial arbitration.
Richard is also a legal advisor on both corporate and commercial matters and has substantial experience in the preparation of corporate and commercial documentation. He has a strong analytical background, especially in financial analysis. He completed his post-graduate Masters in Business Administration (MBA) majoring in Finance with the University of Hull, England in 1997.
Richard joined Pacific Trustees Berhad in February 2012 and he is now the Group General Manager of the Pacific Trustees Group. With more than eight (8) years cumulative and five (5) years direct working experience and exposure in the trustee industry, he has been giving talks and training to financial planning firms on the subjects of Will, Trust and Estate Planning. His talks among others, centers around benefits of Trust and how Trust can be structured to preserve business and family wealth across multiple generations. He has also been invited to speak in seminars about how Trust can be set up to add advantage for special needs kids who are under adult supervision and unable to make sound financial decisions.
On the corporate trust arena, Richard has also been a speaker in seminars conducted annually on Trustees’ roles and duties for Private Debt Securities, Interest Schemes and REITs.
In 2017, Richard has been invited to be on the panellist on international forums and symposiums hosted in Singapore by Asia Pacific Real Estate Association and Fortune Times to address Real Estate Investment Trust (“REIT”) developments in the ASIA Region to share and address issues and matters from the REIT Trustee’s perspective.
