Yap Ming Hui is the founder and managing director of Whitman Independent Advisors Sdn Bhd (www.whitman.com.my) a leading holistic wealth management firm (RM2.54 Billion asset under advice) in Malaysia which specialises in helping clients to grow their whole wealth. Whitman is licensed by the Securities Commission and Bank Negara Malaysia.
Yap’s personal advisory clients include some of the major owners of public-listed companies (PLCs) on Bursa Malaysia, CEOs of multi- national corporations (MNCs) and successful small-and-medium enterprise (SME) companies.
In 2008, inspired by a cold call from a single mother seeking independent financial advice, Yap decided to adapt his wealth management solutions to fit the needs of every Malaysian. The solution he created for her, the ‘Roadmap to Financial Freedom’, is showcased in his book, Roadmap to Financial Freedom.
Currently, once a month, Yap contributes to a column in the STAR Bizweek on Saturdays called Money and You. When time permits, he also contributes personal finance book reviews for THE STAR newspaper.
In 2017, he started Yap’s Money Life Show on YouTube to educate the public online.
