Sheena Jacob has a wide range of experience in intellectual property for a large number of clients. Her areas of practice range from advice on patent and trade mark protection, enforcement of intellectual property rights, data protection, privacy issues, advising on regulation of internet and media content, copyright infringements, software licensing and development, technology transfer and other technology contracts, conducting anti-piracy campaigns against counterfeiters, advising technology and biotechnology companies, developing licensing strategies for intellectual property protection and advising on intellectual property portfolio management, government lobbying efforts and policy initiatives for clients to enhance protection of their intellectual property rights, advice on anti-competition issues in licensing.
Sheena obtained a Bachelor of Laws Second Class (Upper) in 1988 from the National University of Singapore and a Masters in Law (Trade Regulation) in Intellectual Property and Anti-trust from New York University School of Law in 1990. She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1989 and as an attorney in the State of New York, USA in 1992. She is a registered Singapore patent agent.
Sheena is a member of the American Bar Association, the Association for the Protection of Industrial Property and the Pharmaceutical Trade Mark Group. She is the Chair of the ICT committee of the American Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Singapore Treaty Promotion Subcommittee of the Treaty Analysis Committee (TAC) of INTA.
She has also written numerous articles and conducted many seminars on intellectual property and technology and has appeared on Asia Business News and Channel NewsAsia programs on intellectual property protection.
