Banks tighten verification processes after SingHealth cyber attack

Maybank has started asking additional verification questions to confirm customers' identity. Two-factor authentication through SMS or hardware token is also used for all transactions over the Internet, mobile and phone.

 Banks have stepped up security measures following a directive from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in July, in the wake of the cyber attack on SingHealth.
