Vivian Li Appointed as UBS's New Head of Active Advisory for Southeast Asia

UBS Global Wealth Management has announced the appointment of Vivian Li to the position of head of active advisory for the Southeast Asia (SEA) region.

She will be based in Singapore, and will continue her involvement with the advisory portfolio team, offering her expertise as an investment counsellor, according to an article by Citywire Asia.

Li's responsibilities include reporting to Jerome Tan and Jasmine Koh, who are the co-leads for advisory and sales and investment consulting for Southeast Asia at UBS Global Wealth Management. Despite the significance of this appointment, the bank has opted not to make an official comment.

Having been part of UBS for more than ten years, Li brings extensive experience to her new position. Her previous role was the head of active portfolio advisory for Greater China, stationed in Hong Kong. Before joining UBS, she was a fixed income portfolio manager at HSBC Global Private Bank.

The new structure of leadership, including Tan and Koh as co-heads, comes as a result of the bank's senior management reorganization following the announcement of a merger with Credit Suisse. Tan, who came from Credit Suisse, joined Koh at UBS GWM to lead the investment strategy across various sectors including funds, alternatives, mandates, and direct client channels for the private bank in the SEA region.

The merger has prompted a review of roles within the bank to address the duplication of markets and positions, integrating expertise from both UBS and Credit Suisse, including Jun Chih Hsu and Valerie Lau as team leads for Southeast Asia and Greater China, respectively, along with UBS investment consultant Sarah Lim.
