Finantix acquires Asian start-up smartfolios

Finantix has completed the acquisition of smartfolios, a Singapore-based online advisory and investment platform targeted at financial institutions, the firm announced via a press release on March 13.

smartfolios has developed advanced analytics to provide real-time robo-advisory and portfolio management services with thematic investment capabilities.

Finantix, which already offers digital wealth advisory services and hybrid robo-advisory solutions to key industry players, completed the acquisition in February 2018. 

With this deal, Finantix said that it will now be able to complete its offering by adding support to Chief Investment Office plus Asset Managers and Robo-Advisors with advanced, enterprise-grade investment technology.

According to a recent study, robo-advisors will reach USD987 billion in AUM by 2022, a figure dependent on increased consumer trust on technologies like AI.

Finantix is a global provider of enterprise solutions in WealthTech, InsurTech and RegTech. It currently provides digital engines and APIs to wealth managers, top-tier private banks and insurers in 40 markets.
