Profile:
David holds the role of Managing Director, Head of Wealth Management Singapore and Malaysia Markets, BNP Paribas Singapore, effective 1 February 2017. Based in Singapore, David is responsible for growing the Wealth Management business, expanding our foothold as well as deepening existing relationships while executing the Bank’s strategy in Singapore and Malaysia markets. An industry veteran, David brings over more than 30 years of experience in Banking, Corporate Finance, Treasury and Audit in which he has lived and worked in various cities like Melbourne, Sydney, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai and Singapore. His extensive experience is gained from a variety of senior positions spanning various geographical coverage across Consumer Banking, Corporate & Investment Banking and Private Banking businesses. Before joining BNP Paribas, David held a long tenure of 15 years with Standard Chartered Bank where he assumed a number of key management positions, both in Corporate and Private Banking divisions. Prior to joining Standard Chartered in 2002, David served senior positions both in banking and corporate sectors, including Macquarie Bank Singapore, Usaha Tegas Group Malaysia, Australia’s Elders Group, Gas & Fuel Corporation Victoria and Citibank Australia. A graduate in economics and accounting, David also holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Australia. As part of his way of giving back to the society, David also lectures at the Wealth Management Institute of Singapore and Singapore Management University, in his free time.
