Profile:
Thai Nguyen has 18 years of experience across investment management and consulting. Prior to being named CEO of VinaCapital’s asset management business in June 2018, Thai served as General Director of VinaWealth, VinaCapital’s mutual fund business, which primarily targets Vietnamese investors. Starting in January 2014, she built the business from the ground-up, including recruiting and training the team, and launching and distributing new investment products. At the start of 2018, the mutual fund business managed more than USD100 million in assets. Thai first joined VinaCapital in 2008 as Director of Strategy & Fundraising, where she assisted in post-investment management, fundraising, strategic planning, and operations. In 2012, Thai moved to Vietnam Investment Group, a leading private equity firm, where she participated in deal analysis and execution, post-deal integration, and investor relations. Thai started her career in management consulting in the US, working at Hay Management Consulting and Monitor Group (now Monitor-Deloitte), advising Fortune 500 clients on marketing strategy. Thai earned a BA from Harvard University and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She holds a Fund Management License issued by the State Securities Commission of Vietnam.
