QBE names new Chief Executive Officer for Singapore

Ronak Shah has been named as QBE’s new Chief Executive Officer for QBE Insurance’s Singapore operation, where he was previously the Asia Pacific Head of Financial & Professional and Casualty Lines.

Prior to joining QBE, Shah was the Regional Director for ASEAN and South Asia Director for JLT Insurance’s Financial Lines Group. He has over 15 years of experience in the region, having also been affiliated with Allied World Assurance Company and Willis, a London-headquartered financial services company.

In his new role, Shah will be responsible for QBE’s Singapore operations; he will be reporting to Jason Hammond, the Chief Executive Officer of QBE Asia, who himself was previously the interim Chief Executive Officer for the insurance firm’s Hong Kong division.

The insurance group made another recent senior appointment, naming Todd Jones as the Chief Executive Officer of its North American operations, whom was previously the global corporate risk and broking for Willis Towers Watson.

QBE Insurance also recently revealed its half-year fiscal results, in which it revealed a 35% increase its profits after tax, which were named to have been USD520 million, according to a report by Insurance Business Magazine.
