PraxisIFM announces appointment of Managing Director

PraxisIFM Nerine (Hong Kong) has announced the appointment of Joanna Caen as its new Managing Director, succeeding Melanie Ison, who is reportedly relocating to the firm’s Guernsey office.

Caen originates from New Zealand, and joins PraxisIFM from Herbert Smith Freehills, where she was reportedly most recently a Partner and Head of Private Wealth in China.

Caen was admitted as a Solicitor and Barrister in New Zealand and as a Solicitor in Hong Kong in 2016. She will be joining the firm with 12 years of experience in private banking, private clients, estate planning and trust advisory and regulatory matters and is presently Vice Chair of the Society of Trust and Estate Planning in Hong Kong, PraxisIFM said in a press release.

Robert Fearis, CEO, PraxisIFM Group, said: “Joanna is a proven senior practitioner with valuable experience in the industry. I am confident that she will be an outstanding addition to our Hong Kong team and I am looking forward to working together.”

Ison, former Managing Director of PraxisIFM Nerine (Hong Kong), is returning to Guernsey to take up the position of Director with PraxisIFM Trust (Guernsey), according to the press release. She first joined PraxisIFM Nerine in March 2009 as a Director, based in Hong Kong, before being promoted to Managing director in 2014.
