Lombard Odier takes over luxury fund from Credit Suisse

Juan Mendoza will join Lombard Odier as Senior Portfolio Manager to run the Global Prestige fund.

Juan Mendoza will join Lombard Odier Investment Managers (IM) as Senior Portfolio Manager to run its Global Prestige fund following its deal with Credit Suisse Asset Management (AM).

Mendoza's appointment, who is currently the Singapore-based Head of Asian Equities at Credit Suisse AM, follows the firm's decision to transfer its luxury goods global equity strategy to Lombard Odier IM.

Lombard Odier IM will take over the high-conviction global equity strategy, which invests in companies offering luxury or prestige products and services with premium brands, in the mid-year.

On June 26, Lombard Odier IM will launch LO Funds – Global Prestige to which the EUR236 million Credit Suisse Global Prestige Equity Fund will subsequently transfer to.

The statement said that Global Prestige would be invested in a concentrated portfolio of 30 to 40 stocks of companies with the ability to generate sustainable excess economic returns with strong market positions, high pricing power and promising growth prospects.

According to a statement, Mendoza will run Global Prestige with the same investment objective, policy, and approach taken at Credit Suisse since 2009, supported by Ingrid Nouhaud, Analyst in Lombard Odier IM’s High Conviction Equity team.
