Hywin Wealth and VP Bank Co-Publish report placing the Spotlight on Asia’s HNW Women

VP Bank and Hywin Wealth have unveiled a new report titled ‘Winning Women in Asia-Pacific: Insights for wealth managers direct from female clients.’

The report is based on interviews with a range of high and ultra-high net worth individuals across Asia-Pacific. These encompassed entrepreneurs, professionals, millennial heiresses, wives wanting to know more, and those fulfilling the “trusted daughter” role within super-wealthy dynasties, to name but a few, Hywin Wealth reported in a press release announcing the report.

Further illuminating the client commentary are insights from a range of industry experts all looking at the sector through a slightly different lens.

Readers will learn why APAC’s wealthy women warrant this focus, why they have an urgent need for wealth management services; how they operate as entrepreneurs and stewards of wealth in family offices; where wealth managers should be taking their investment propositions to meet modern ESG demands; and, how wealth managers should go about refining their female-centric strategies.

Reto Marx, Head of Intermediaries and Private Banking, Singapore, VP Bank, said: “Gender equality makes up one of the 17 global goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This is an inspiring ambition set by the United Nations to bring about a more equitable and sustainable future – environmentally, socially, and economically. VP Bank is therefore proud to be sponsoring this exciting report that focuses on wealth management for women. The research enables VP Bank and the wider community to best understand the ‘wants and needs’ as well as the ‘values’ female clients in Asia look for when selecting their partners for wealth management services.”

“As we look ahead to the near future and alongside our mantra, ‘Investing for Change’, these women and their fellow compatriots, all successful in their own rights, are a redefining force for bringing about new and better norms. Through this exclusive report, VP Bank, with its Chinese partner Hywin Wealth, stands committed to supporting Asian women in our community, as well as globally, now and into the future. We do this by championing the evolution of the industry’s approach to women, understanding their uniqueness and motivations, celebrating their successes, and empowering women to redefine all of our futures through protecting their wealth,” Marx continued.

The report is broken down into a number of segments, addressing areas such as the importance of giving HNW women due attention, the prominence of entrepreneurial women in Asia, the role of women in family wealth, the avail of women working in the financial services industry, and ultimately, what women want from wealth management services.

Wendy Spires, Head of Research, WealthBriefing, and the author of the report, said: “We hope to have added significantly to the broad industry’s understanding of women by turning our attention to Asia-Pacific, as well as giving a range of actionable insights to stakeholders in the region specifically.”

“There is all to play for as business and broader society rebalance to tap into feminine strengths. As VP Bank and Hywin Wealth are already seeing, the rewards for getting female-centricity right are great.”
