HSBC Private Banking Strengthens Investments Arm

Lina Lin, Rocky Cheung and Simon Hwang have been appointed to new roles as HSBC Private Banking expands its Investment Services and Product Solutions Group, developing its leadership team in the Asia-Pacific leadership.

Lim has been appointed as the Regional Head of Discretionary for Asia. She joins the bank from JPMorgan, whom she was an investment specialist with for nearly 8 years. She brings over two decades of experience to her new role, having also been an auditor affiliated with Ernst & Young. She is based out of Hong Kong.

Cheung has been named as HSBC’s Head of Investment Counselling for the Mainland China and Taiwan markets. He was previously the Head of Investment Product and Advisory for DBS Bank’s Hong Kong operation, having been with the firm for over a decade.

In his new role, Cheung’s responsibilities will include leading all investment consultants in the China and Taiwan regions, and he will be reporting to the Co-Heads of Investment Services and Product Solutions for Asia-Pacific, Jackie Mau and Abdel Ben Tkhayet, according to a report by The Asset.

Hwang is to become HSBC’s Head of the Investment Counselling team for Mainland China market, based out of Hong Kong, joining the bank from Citi Private Bank. At Citi, Hwang was an Investment Counsellor and Team Lead for the bank’s China operation. Prior to this, he held roles with China Everbright, and was the Founder and Chief Investment Officer for Pangu Capital Limited.
