HSBC bolsters Investments and Wealth Solutions division with appointment of Fidelis Oruche

Fidelis Oruche is appointed as Global Head of Capital Markets and Investments and Wealth Solutions (IWS) Platforms, based in Singapore.

HSBC has announced the appointment of Fidelis Oruche as Global Head of Capital Markets and Investments and Wealth Solutions (IWS) Platforms for its Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) business, with effect from 1 March 2022. Fidelis will be based in Singapore, reporting to Lavanya Chari, Global Head of IWS.

Responsible for the development of capital markets products and platforms across Personal, Premier and Global Private Banking (GPB) clients, Fidelis will continue to enhance the focus of WPB’s online trading offering for clients, collaborating with the investment bank and global business partners.

Fidelis joins HSBC from Bank of Singapore, where he was most recently Managing Director, Head of Alternative Investments and Managed Solutions. Prior to this role, he was the Head of Investment Advisory and Sales where he led teams of advisors and product specialists in Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai responsible for providing advisory and execution services in Fixed income, Foreign Exchange, Equities, Structured Products, Derivatives, Funds Solutions and Private Equity. 

Fidelis has over two decades of experience in financial services, including over 15 years in investment banking where he focused on FX derivatives in both trading and management roles, in large global organisations across Europe and Asia.

IWS is a newly created unit within WPB that is responsible for the development and rollout of best in class, in-house and third-party wealth products and solutions, securities based lending and market insights for the breadth of WPB clients across GPB, Premier and Personal Banking. The unit covers discretionary, advisory, alternatives (which includes hedge funds, private equity and real estate), equities, fixed income, structured products, mutual funds & ETFs, securities based lending, trust and investments, and FX.
