Hannes Hofmann appointed Global Head of the Family Office Group for Citi Private Bank

Citi Private Bank has announced Hannes Hofmann as the Global Head of the Family Office Group, to be based in London. Hannes joins in September and will report directly to Ida Liu, Global Head, Citi Private Bank and join the Private Bank Global Leadership Team.

The Family Office Group (formerly called the Private Capital Group) is a critical client segment and a key growth driver for the Private Bank. This team works in close partnership with regional coverage and product partners to deliver comprehensive wealth management solutions and advisory services for our top clients, their families and their companies. The Private Bank covers over 1500 family offices globally with an average net worth of $1.7BN, including 25% of the world’s billionaires

Hannes has an extensive global institutional wealth background. He joins from J.P. Morgan where he spent over 20 years in numerous roles globally. Most recently, Hannes was the Head of Multifamily Office and Intermediaries for the Asia, EMEA, and LatAm regions. Previously, Hannes was Head of the Global Investment Opportunities Group in Asia, where he led teams in Singapore and Hong Kong that provided investment advice to sophisticated, trading-oriented clients in J.P. Morgan Private Bank Asia. He was also the Head of Investments in the U.S. Southeast region at J.P. Morgan representing $20 billion in client assets across seven states and 150 advisors. Hannes holds an MBA from Stanford University, a Master’s degree from CEMS/London School of Economics and a Master's degree from the Vienna University of Business and Economics, as well as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He is a former board member of the Wolfsonian Institute in Miami.

 

Hannes succeeds James Holder who has moved into a new role as Cluster Head for Europe.
