Futu Launches Responsible Investing Model Portfolio on Futubull Platform

Futu Securities International (Hong Kong) (“Futu”) has announced the launch of Money Plus Portfolio - Global ESG Selected Fund Strategy  (the “Portfolio”) on its Futubull platform, offering its clients access to an option for responsible investing. Futu also partners with BNY Mellon Investment Management (BNY Mellon IM), one of the world’s leading investment managers with US$2.3trillion in assets under management, for its model portfolio capability.

The Money Plus Portfolio - Global ESG Selected Fund Strategy targets a stable growth risk profile with responsible investing considerations which seeks to preserve and grow invested assets. The responsible investment profile aims to be superior to that of its benchmark, and pursues this through a combination of underlying strategies that have explicit responsible investment aims and strategies with a sustainability profile superior to their peer group. By offering this Portfolio, Futu provides its clients with an opportunity to invest while supporting meaningful changes that align with their values.

Under the agreement, BNY Mellon IM, being a leading provider of Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) capability, will provide model portfolio services to Futu to support Futu in developing and delivering the Money Plus Portfolio - Global ESG Selected Fund Strategy. Tailoring its offerings based on clients’ investment behaviour and risk appetite, the Portfolio will be offered to clients as an option for investment should Futu’s system decide it relevant to them.

Since launching the OCIO business in Asia, BNY Mellon IM has seen strong demand for model portfolios and Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs) from institutional and intermediary clients in the region. The firm is currently collaborating with asset managers and wealth management platforms in Asia Pacific to offer OCIO services, and has a vision to be the solution provider of comprehensive portfolio management and investment advisory to help Asia Pacific clients scale up their businesses. The partnership with Futu actualizes this vision by assisting the investment platform to enhance investment services for its users.  

More recently, BNY Mellon IM has appointed Clarence Chan as Head of Client Solutions for Asia Pacific Ex-Japan to lead the effort in building out OCIO business in the region. He will work closely with Futu to ensure continuous success in the Portfolio provision.
