Ex-Bank of Singapore Head founds Independent Asset Management Firm

Anson Sng, previously the Head of Bank of Singapore’s Discretionary Portfolio Management team, has founded the Independent Asset Management firm Raintree.

Sng will take on responsibility for corporate governance, strategic planning, business development, and will be responsible for the management of client’s portfolios, taking strategic investment decisions.

The decision to found Raintreehas come following Sng’s noting of the increasing demand for firms operating under the Independent Asset Manager (IAM) banner.

He has been quoted as saying that “Clients now want to know and manage their total risk exposure across asset classes, region/sector, currency, and single securities on a holistic, rather than silo manner.”

The new IAM has put together both an operations and investments team, with plans to expand its operations further in 2020.
