Deutsche Bank Wealth Management expands APAC wealth advisory and investment solutions team

Deutsche Bank Wealth Management has appointed Wei Mei Tan as its Head of Advisory & Investment Solutions, APAC.

A Managing Director based in Singapore, Tan is responsible for building the bank's wealth advisory platform, an area in which the bank is investing to meet its clients' investment needs. She will also ensure the alignment of the discretionary proposition by working closely with the Chief Investment Office and the Discretionary Portfolio Management teams.

Tan reports to Lavanya Chari, interim Global Head of Global Products & Solutions.

"With her wealth of industry experience and track record of product management for private banking clients, Wei Mei will add enormous value for our clients as we build our wealth advisory proposition," said Chari, who is also Emerging Markets Head of Global Products & Solutions.

“We will gradually build up our wealth advisory team with a mandate to provide sophisticated advice on investment opportunities and trade ideas that can deliver value to our clients,” Chari said.

Tan joined from Credit Suisse where she oversaw its discretionary and advisory mandates as APAC Head of Portfolio Solutions, Products & Solutions (Private Banking) since 2014. Prior to that, she was APAC Head of Mandate Specialist, Investment Management at UBS.

The wealth management business is a core growth pillar for Deutsche Bank. It hired more than 100 employees last year to serve clients based in locations including Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Switzerland, UAE and the UK, as well as to build out digital capabilities and controls. Recent senior appointments in its product platform include John Lilley, Funds Solutions Specialist, and Wee Teck Tay, Head of Private Markets APAC both of whom are based in Singapore.
