Credit Suisse appoints Malcolm Tay Deputy Market Group Head and Market Leader for Indonesia

Tay will join Credit Suisse as a Deputy Market Group Head and Market Leader for Indonesia with effect from September 1, 2021.

Tay will be based in Singapore and will report to Johanes Oeni, Market Group Head Indonesia.

Tay has over 30 years of wealth management experience and joins us from Deutsche Bank Wealth Management, where he worked for 18 years, most recently as Group Head Southeast Asia. Previously, he served as a Client Relationship Manager at Merrill Lynch. Prior to that, he was with Citi Private Bank as Co-Head, Indonesia Onshore Private Bank for 10 years.

Indonesia is a key growth market for Credit Suisse's private banking business. Benefiting from a leading position in the Indonesia market, the company is fully committed to further accelerating the growth and expansion of its Indonesia franchise footprint by offering value-added and bespoke services to better serve it's ultra-high-net-worth clients.

Tay’s extensive industry experience, long-established relationships with key clients and deep understanding of the market, will enable Credit Suisse to consolidate leadership in the Indonesia market and across the region.

Recent hires for Private Banking South Asia include the promotion of Dominique Boer as Market Group Head Singapore and Tammy Tan as Team Leader for the Thailand & Vietnam Market based in Singapore.   • Vaidyanathan Narayanan has joined the India market as a Relationship Manager based in Singapore.
