Capital Group builds out Asia Distribution Capacity

Capital Group, an American financial services company, has announced that it has recruited two Associates to its Asian team to bolster its regional fund distribution capabilities, based in Singapore.

Keith Wong has been appointed as an Associate Director, Financial Intermediaries, Asia, a newly created role, according to an article by Finews Asia.

Wong joins Capital Group from JP Morgan, where he was most recently an Associate Investment specialist, responsible for providing advice on asset allocation and opportunistic investments across direct deals, private equity, fixed income and equity investments to ultra-high net worth, family offices and other institutional clients across Singapore and Indonesia, according to his LinkedIn.

In addition to his time with JP Morgan, Wong has been affiliated with firms such as Symantec Corportation, an encryption, malware and antivirus protection solution provider, Barclays, and Citibank.

Wong will report to Jeik Sohn, Managing Director, Financial Intermediaries, Asia in his new role with Capital Group.

The firm has also reportedly appointed Jasmine Huang as Associate Director, Product Marketing, Asia and Europe, reporting to Janelle Li, Director, Product Marketing, Asia and Europe at Capital Group.

Huang joins the firm from Franklin Templeton, where she was a Senior Product Content Specialist, according to her LinkedIn, a role she held for nearly one-and-a-half years. Prior to this, she was an investment product manager for DBS Bank, again based in Singapore. She has also been affiliated with firms such as Partners Group, Prudential Assurance, and iFAST, where she was most recently involved in Investment Marketing. She brings over a decade of experience to her new role.

Guy Henriques, Head of Distribution, Asia and Europe, Capital Group, said: “In these challenging times, we will continue to invest in our people and our business in Asia. Being a private company allows us to maintain a long-term focus, aligned with the long-term investment horizons of our clients.”

Henriques noted that Asia remains a key focus for the group, stating that it is a “strategically important region” for Capital Group.
