BNP Paribas announces several appointments

BNP Paribas has announced the appointments of Sofia Merlo, Vincent Lecomte, Anne Pointet and Pierre Veyres to senior roles within the bank.

Sofia Merlo, currently Co-CEO of BNP Paribas Wealth Management, will join the Group Human Resources function from May 2020 and will meet with the teams of the Group's various entities around the world before succeeding Yves Martrenchar as Head of Group Human Resources and member of the BNP Paribas Executive Committee at the end of 2020.

Vincent Lecomte, Co-CEO with Sofia Merlo of BNP Paribas Wealth Management, has been appointed CEO of the business with effect from 4 May 2020. Lecomte is a member of the Executive Committee of International Financial Services and reports to Jacques d'Estais, Deputy Chief Operating Officer, BNP Paribas.

Anne Pointet, who is currently Head of the South-East Region for French Retail Banking, has been appointed Deputy-CEO, BNP Paribas Wealth Management. She will take up her new position in May 2020 and will oversee Wealth Management activities for Domestic Markets and International Retail Banking. She will report hierarchically to Lecomte and will be a member of the Executive Committee of Domestic Markets, headed by Thierry Laborde, Deputy Chief Operating Officer, BNP Paribas, to whom she will report functionally.

Pierre Veyres, currently Head of CIB Global Banking Americas business in New York, has been appointed Head of the South-East Region, French Retail Banking. He will succeed Anne Pointet in March 2020.
