Indonesian online investment product marketplace Bareksa aims to acquire up to 250,000 investors by the end of this year, according to a local news report

As of May this year, Bareksa claims to have acquired a client base of 100,000 investors worth over RP850 billion.

Bareksa claims that this makes it the leading the mutual fund marketplace with 16% of the total market—pointing to Indonesia’s Central Securities Depository (KSEI) statistics, according to which the total number of investors in mutual funds had reached 619,380 as of end-2017.

Bareksa is an SBN 003 distribution partner in Indonesia and is relying on the product to boost its customer base.

SBN 003 is an investment product that is considered very affordable for millennials, with the price starting from RP1 million. The maximum number of SBN 003 ownership is RP3 billion with the yield higher than the deposit interest.

Bareksa will also rely on its partnerships, such as the ones with Bukalapak, Tokopedia, Doku, and Mandiri e-Cash to boost its numbers. The company already facilitates mutual funds payment or purchase using Mandiri e-cash.
