David Friedland is the regional head and managing director of Interactive Brokers Group’s Asia Pacific operations. Mr. Friedland’s tenure with the firm dates back to 1985 where he assisted with the programming and development of its trading systems. In 1995 Mr. Friedland relocated to Hong Kong to oversee and commence the group’s derivative market making (Timber Hill) and brokerage operations (Interactive Brokers) in Asia and Australia. Mr. Friedland has served as vice chairman on the Hong Kong Futures Exchanges HSI Future & Options migration special committee, was a member of the Security and Future Commissions Steering Committee on the Enhancement of the Financial Infrastructure in Hong Kong User Working Group, the Derivative Market Consultative Panel at the HKEx and currently is a member of the HKEX Clearing Risk Working Group and the SGX DT Advisory Committee. Mr. Friedland received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Vassar College, cum laude, and his MBA at the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA.
