Fazlina is the current Chief Operating Officer of Maybank Trustees Berhad whose main role is drive the trustee’s business and spearhead its transformation initiatives. She now heads the overall operations of Maybank Trustees covering both private and corporate trusts. She was Maybank Trustee’s acting CEO in charge of operations and overall Maybank Trustee’s business activities. During that short 7-month period as Officer In Charge, Fazlina has been instrumental in leading the team to achieve significant uptrends in overall growth, in comparison to FY2020. Fazlina has a vast array of experience in the private banking, trust and fiduciary industry. She started her career as a trust officer with Maybank Trustees Berhad back in 2004 dealing with private debt securities. She then moved on to another local bank to attend to trust and estate administration matters. As Associate Director of CIMB Commerce Trustee Berhad, Fazlina was entrusted to develop private trusts and estate planning business. Her experience include trust set up in various jurisdictions internationally like Labuan, Jersey and the United Kingdom. In 2019, she joined Maybank Berhad to head the trust and fiduciary advisory unit under Maybank Global Wealth Management. As Head of Trust & Fiduciary, Fazlina again was entrusted set up the fiduciary services to provide bespoke estate planning solutions. Fazlina is known in the trust/fiduciary industry for providing solutions to her ultra & high net worth clients who need to set up family trusts and foundations. In Fazlina’s 18 years of hands-on experience, she has been instrumental in providingclients customised sustainable solution to create an effective ecosystem for multi-generational structure. Her other key achievements/contributions include: (i) the setting up of STEP Malaysia in 2012. Fazlina was one of the founding committee member of STEP Malaysia. She is the current Secretary of STEP Malaysia; (ii) establishment of the Islamic Securities Services in CIMB Investment Bank that offers a comprehensive range of Syariah –compliant securities services for issuers and fund managers within and beyond South East Asia. Qualifications: BSc (Honours) in Computational and Industrial Mathematics from University of Malaya; Qualified Trust and Estate Practitioner (“TEP”) an internationally recognized hallmark of professional expertise in the area of trusts and estate practice; Certificate in Law & Practice, Diploma in International Trust Management, Certificate in Trustee Investment / Financial Appraisal, Certificate in Trust Administration & Accounts, and Certificate in International Trust Management from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) (held in Singapore and USA).
