Peter is a senior global financial services executive with over 25 years’ experience leading businesses in fiduciary services, private clients, family offices, wealth management and insurance. Peter has spent the last eight and a half years in Hong Kong, working closely with major Asian families (first and second generation), their family offices and their international business operations. Peter’s specific expertise lies in advising global families and entrepreneurs, in relation to pre-IPO planning, family governance, business succession and inter-generational wealth transfer and planning. In this role, Peter advises several Asian families (and their businesses) with their cross-border planning (including the set-up of family offices, charitable foundations, private trust companies and funds) and provides strategic advice in relation to their global diversification and expansion in the Americas and Europe. Prior to joining IQ-EQ, Peter was Global Head of Fiduciary Services and Head of Asia for an international legal, accounting and fiduciary services firm with offices spanning from the US to New Zealand. As well as leading the firm’s private wealth offering globally, he was responsible for establishing its presence in Asia, including the set-up of its Hong Kong office. Before that, Peter was Managing Director of the Institutional Sales and Private Client division of a global fiduciary services provider, with responsibilities spanning 44 offices and 33 countries. Peter relocated to Hong Kong in 2012 from his native Australia, where he had spent ten years in private banking, holding senior distribution positions at both Macquarie and Westpac. Other previous experience has included roles spanning private wealth, risk management, corporate governance and audit in both Australia and the US. Peter has recently accepted a non-executive position as the Hong Kong Chair of a major global philanthropic Group, WinThisFight, which focuses on addressing the human trafficking of women and children. Peter who was raised in Sydney, Australia, is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Master of Commerce (Macquarie University) and a Bachelor of Commerce (UNSW). Peter is married with two children and lives in Hong Kong.
