Richard Harris has pioneered Asian investment management for the last 37 years at senior levels for large global companies (including groups now known as JP Morgan and Citi) and regional boutiques. Mr. Harris has since been appointed to review a wide range of complex financial litigation and arbitration cases; including those concerning synthetic security derivatives, insider trading, misselling of financial products, misuse of price sensitive information and determination of quantum. His experience includes the review of both civil and criminal disputes, for Plaintiffs and Defendants, concerning shareholder structures, loan agreements, employment contracts and bank and client conflicts. He has given evidence in Court in both Hong Kong and Singapore, and completed a case domiciled in Japan. He has worked alongside forensic accountants and liquidators, as well as the HK Securities and Futures Commission. Richard Harris is CEO of Port Shelter Investment Management, which includes providing investment business management consulting and supervision as a Hong Kong Responsible Officer. Richard’s clients have included public and private institutions, investment managers, prominent industrial and political individuals, Boards, and Family Offices. Mr. Harris has substantial regulatory, Board and China experience. He has managed multi-asset long, derivative, hedge, and mutual funds for sovereign, endowment, institutional, pension, private and retail clients. As a consultant, his wide range of skills provides significant value for money. Richard is a well-known writer and broadcaster, published weekly in the South China Morning Post. He presents Radio Hong Kong’s daily financial programme, “Money for Nothing”. He is a regular Guest Host on CNBC Asia and Europe, and Bloomberg. He was first to coin the term ‘Lionomics’. These activities sit alongside his expert witness practice to maintain currency in the changing marketplace of finance. Mr. Harris holds a First Class Honour’s degree from King’s College London, Masters' degrees from London and Harvard (Harvard MBA 1986); and certificates from Peking and Stanford Universities. Mr. Harris is an aerobatic private pilot and a rugby player of some 52 years’ standing.
