Alvin is currently a Managing Director for Global Account Management. Alvin and his team work with financial institutions, institutional investors, and leading corporations to structure solutions for risk management, connectivity, product valuation, regulatory compliance, and deriving strategic market insights for these institutions’ investment, trading, lending, and intermediary activities. Alvin started his career in JPMorgan’s Risk Management Advisory team in both New York and Singapore, where he developed quantitative models for trading activities and advised selected clients on enterprise risk management. He then joined RiskMetrics Group, where he was in product development at the New York headquarters, and then ran the Asia team, whose business lines included portfolio risk management, corporate governance, and environmental and socially responsible investing research. Prior to joining IHS Markit, Alvin served as Head of Southeast Asia Coverage at MSCI, where he led the regional coverage team and was instrumental in growing the business across three product lines (Equity Indices, Portfolio Risk Analytics, and ESG Research). Alvin is also the author of CorporateMetrics to analyse earnings-at-risk, and has contributed finance-related articles to AsiaRisk and the Wall Street Journal Asia Edition. Alvin was born in Canada and grew up in the North America. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Engineering from Stanford University. He is now based in IHS Markit’s Singapore office.
