Derrick Tan is Chief Executive, Hong Kong Branch and Global Market Head, Greater China and North Asia for Bank of Singapore. As the Global Market Head, he is responsible for driving growth in Greater China and North Asia, as well as for expanding Bank of Singapore’s presence through collaborative partners OCBC Wing Hang Bank, OCBC Wing Hang China and Bank of Ningbo in Greater China.Derrick, who has close to 20 years of banking experience, joined Bank of Singapore in 2010 and rose through the ranks to become the Global Market Head for Malaysia, Brunei, Japan, Sub-Continent and Middle East in 2015. He was instrumental in establishing the Bank’s market-leading position in the Middle East region, which culminated in the setting up of the bank’s branch in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) in February 2017. Before joining Bank of Singapore, he held positions in UBS AG where he was the Executive Director and Desk Head of the Indonesia market from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, he was responsible for HSBC’s offshore International Banking Centre. Derrick holds a degree in Banking and Finance from Curtin University of Technology. He also graduated from the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Programme in 2013.
