What Role Will Derivatives Play in Vietnamese Wealth Management?
It was less than fifteen years ago that the Vietnamese stock market comprised fewer than two dozen stocks valued in total at less than USD200 million. Today, there are three stock markets and a total market capitalisation of around USD160 billion. Just over one year ago Vietnam introduced its first futures contract on an equity index. Is this the precursor of a more diverse and vibrant derivatives market?

Asia’s Growth Path and the Evolving Role of the Private Bank
Kimmis Pun, Head of Private Banking for VP Bank in Singapore, told delegates at the Hubbis Vietnam Wealth Management Forum how the private banking and wealth management models must evolve in Asia in order to capture both the enormous growth potential and the evolving client expectations.
Vietnam: Why Wealth Managers Must Keep a Close Eye on Global Regulations
Is Vietnam yet a signatory to the many new global regulations to have emerged in recent years? No, but there will no doubt be ever greater pressure from leading global jurisdictions and bodies to bring the country into line. Irene Lee, Business Development Director, Intermediary and Partnership at wealth management advisory and corporate services firm Hawksford, told delegates at the Hubbis Vietnam Wealth Management Forum they must be aware of the need for compliance.
Leonteq: Structured Products for the Vietnam Wealth Management Market
Xavier Burkhardt, executive director at Leonteq, told delegates how firmly he believes SPs can help investors cope with a variety of mainstream financial market conditions, as they can be tailored to suit their individual investor outlooks on the markets, whether positive, negative, or neutral.
Wealth Management Relationships: Building and Expanding in the Digital Age
David MacDonald, Head of Learning Solutions at Hubbis, believes relationship managers and client-facing wealth management professionals must tune in carefully and thoughtfully to their high net worth customers from a dedicated and highly client-centric perspective. Failure to do so will result in obsolescence at worst or diminished business potential at best.
Where Next? Tax Implications of Residence Planning for Asia’s HNW families
Pierre Vanrenterghem, Manager for South East Asia at Rosemont International is an expert in advising high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and their families on the tax implications of their residence and possibly citizenship outside their countries of origin. Whether it is income tax, an assets tax, or inheritance tax, there are challenges and there are solutions, he told the audience at the Hubbis Vietnam Wealth Management Forum.
Opening Doors to a World of Alternative Residence and Citizenship Options
Sylvie Ma, Managing Partner, Henley & Partners, expanded on her introductory comments from earlier in the Forum during a detailed Workshop presentation, in which she analysed how the increase in demand for alternative residence and citizenship is now driving thousands of individuals to investment migration programmes each year. She highlighted the preferred alternatives that Henley currently promotes, in Europe, in Asia-Pacific and in exotic locations such as the Caribbean.
